Exposure to PM10 annual mean

PM10 annual mean | PM10 daily mean | PM2.5 annual mean

At the level of the RIO grid cells (4x4 km²), no one in the Belgian population was exposed to annual average concentrations above the European limit value of 40 µg/m³ since 2007. However, in 2022, 74 % of the population was still exposed to annual average PM10 concentrations above the WHO air quality guideline of 15 µg/m³. In the long term, a decreasing trend of population exposure is observed. In 2012, 93 % of the population was still exposed to annual mean PM10 concentrations above the WHO guideline, in 2017 this was 84 %.
