OZONE: message Thursday, June 22nd, 2017

Yesterday (21/06) the European information threshold of 180ug/m3 was exceeded in 18 (of the 40) monitoring stations.

Today (22/06) high ozone concentrations are expected with likely local exceedances of the European information threshold. Very warm temperatures are expected (up to 34°C). The first half of the day will remain sunny. During the afternoon isolated thundershowers are expected which will have a cooling effect and lower the ozone concentrations. Also, there will be more wind from the west to southwest.

Tomorrow (23/06), no exceedances of the European information threshold are expected. There will be more cloud cover, lower maximum temperatures and a moderate wind from the west to southwest. Ozone concentrations will only reach levels which are normal for the time of the year.
