OZONE: message Friday, June 23rd, 2017

Yesterday (22/06) the European information threshold of 180ug/m3 was exceeded in 2 monitoring stations in Flanders.

Today (23/06) it will be less warm (26°C in the centre of the country) and there will be more cloud cover. The air quality will improve considerably. Ozone concentrations will only reach levels which are normal for the time of the year. No exceedances of the European information threshold are expected. Also during the weekend lower temperatures are forecast with ozone concentrations which are normal for the time of the year.

With this comes an end to a ozone smog episode with an exceedance of the European information threshold of 180ug/m3 in at least 1 monitoring station during 4 consecutive days.
