Exposure to NET60
From the evolution of the percentage of the Belgian population exposed to daily highest 8-hour mean concentrations of ozone above 120µg/m³, it is clear the last 9 years have been favourable ozone years. During these 9 years, no one has been exposed to highest 8-hour mean values above 120µg/m³ on more than 25 days, which is the European limit. In 2015 just under half (49%) of the population was only exposed to such highest 8-hour mean values on less than 10 days. On the other hand, in 1990, 1995, 2003 and 2006 were very unfavourable regarding population exposure to high ozone levels. During these years, around 80% of the population was exposed to NET60 values above the European treshold.
Evolution of the population exposure to days with the highest 8 hour mean value > 120µg/m³ based on the RIO interploation technique.
